Posted on January 24, 2018February 28, 2018 by Stremio

For the first time in history, the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony had a host. And not just any host but the talented, funny and charming Kristen Bell. Albeit short, her opening monologue combined good jokes, subtle political references, and words of female empowerment, which we found suiting.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards) are given to by actors to actors; they aim at recognizing outstanding performances in film and prime time television. One of Hollywood’s major events since 1995 when they were established, the awards nominations come from two committees whose members are chosen at random each year. The full SAG membership (more than 165,000+ people) votes for the awards, which makes taking home the statuette a major accomplishment.
