We have released a change to Cinemeta that should filter out the majority of movies that are currently running in theaters, these movies will no longer be visible in any of the official catalogs.
We did this in order to provide a better user experience, as movies that are currently in cinema should not be expected to be available to watch.
We would like to clarify that this will not remove all movies that have the “In Cinema” tag on posters in some of the Stremio clients, the requirements for showing this tag are different than the new filter applied to Cinemeta.
These changes are currently being applied globally and should be visible for all users within 2 hours.

Does this apply to Netflix movies too? For example, Extraction 2 shows up with the tag, “In Cinema”, but it’ll appear in almost all providers including Torrentio for streaming, as it was already released online
