It’s been a while since our last Tech Update, here’s what changed:

Android App

Improved General Performance
Improved Chromecast Casting (you can now cast any video without missing audio or video)
Filenames Are Now Passed to External Video Players (such as VLC, which can now find subtitles for videos too based on filename)
Added a Setting to Allways Play in External Player
Fixed the Movies of some Addons (such as “The Movie Database Addon”, it would not show any streams for this addon before)
Long Pressing Continue Watching Items Now Displays an Options Menu
Added Streams Loading Indicator (as the Desktop app has)
Fixed an Issue That Caused Stremio to Close When Playing in External Player or Chromecast for Extended Periods
Fixed an Issue Where External Subtitles Would Show Over Embedded Subtitles

Desktop App

Video Filenames are Now Passed to External Video Players
Increased Values of Default Torrent Engine Settings (torrents should download faster now)
Fixed an Issue that Sometimes Caused the Last Day in The Calendar to Not Show Entries
Fixed an Issue Where Some Torrents Would Not Download Correctly
Added a Setting that Allows Always Closing the App When Pressing the Window “X” Button (instead of keeping the app in the OS Tray)
Added a New Video Player Button (Gear Icon, bottom right of the video player) that Includes the Following Options: Download Video, Watch on VLC / MPV, Copy Magnet Link
Fixed an Issue Where the Selected Poster Would Show Above the Search Pop-Up Menu
Replaced the Subtitle Error With a Warning Showing the Name of the Broken Subtitle Addon Too
Support for Using the Trackers from Torrent Files (when a torrent file is dragged & dropped in Stremio, or opened with Stremio)
Fixed a Navigation Issue When Going Back From Board or Search
All Images are now Loaded Lazily to Preserve Bandwidth

Addon Developers can Now Make Use of `stream.proxyHeaders` to Increase Video Playback Compatibility Between Stremio Applications
