A month ago we released an Android version that had (experimental) HDR support, since then we worked closely with our users testing this feature in order to improve it.
We now bring you Stremio v1.4.20 for Android, let’s see what changed!
– New and improved HDR support
– Digital Audio Output (passthrough) Setting (this setting is disabled by default, enabling it adds support for surround sound / Dolby Atmos / etc)
– New Playback Speed Button in Video Player
– New Change Video Scale Button in Video Player (cycles between aspect ratio / crop / zoom presets in order to remove black bars around videos)
– Removed Lock Screen Rotation Button from Video Player (the video player is now always locked in landscape mode)
– New Zoom to Fill Screen (disabled by default, the app normally avoids the notch area of a phone, enabling this will stretch the UI over this area as well)
– Added “Legacy” Setting to HW Decoding Options
– Added Torrent Profile Settings
– Fixed Cache Setting Persistence (there was a bug that made this setting change back to “no cache” before)
– Updated libVLC
Today’s ending note is brought to you by Tomek, the developer that worked on HDR support:
Hope we didn’t break anything! 🤞
