We have been investigating an issue with our backend for the past week, users reported receiving “541” errors in the apps. There was an (almost) daily downtime of about 1-2 hours, during which time logging in, syncing addons and syncing “continue watching” items would not work. But using any of the Stremio apps (presuming you were already logged in) would have mostly worked as expected.
During the investigation we also decided to detach the log in process from the failing part of the backend to ensure that users can log in regardless of the issue we were facing.
After various attempts at optimising our resource usage on the servers, we have decided that it is necessary to scale up our infrastructure so that it can fit the new resource requirements of our users.
We consider the issue fixed for now and don’t expect any more “541” errors (or other backend issues) to show in the near future, we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the API is functioning properly.
