Stremio has been completely free for the last 11 years – and it will always remain free! However, in order to deliver the quality, support and cutting-edge features you’re all used to, we’re launching Stremio Supporters: an optional way for our community to support the long-term development of our product.
Stremio will always be free, and the features that are currently available in the apps will also be free forever. Having monthly support allows us to bring Stremio to new heights by adding features that have always been outside of our budget constraints to build and/or offer to our users. This is a beginning for making Stremio be what some (if not all of you) have been expecting and requesting for a long time, it is a way to ensure the survivability and continued growth of the project towards significantly more ambitious goals.
It is important to note that all current features that are dedicated to Stremio Supporters are highly experimental features, some of which we’ve been working on and tweaking for many years. Some of these features may also become available to free users too if our budget becomes flexible enough to ensure that we can offer them for the wider audience.
Creating the Supporters offer was not an easy choice to make, Stremio was always meant to be a completely free product, but we have reached the limits of what we can offer with the budget we have, while users request and expect more from Stremio. As such, this was the only fair way that we could push forward towards such user expectations.
Let’s take deep dive into the Stremio Supporters experimental features!

So what’s next?

How do I become a Stremio Supporter?
To become a Stremio Supporter you should either subscribe to the monthly / yearly offer or pay for the lifetime offer from our Donation Page.
Stay tuned, as we have many more surprises for our users in 2026!
I support quite a lot everywhere, but I have been attacked so often by your moderator ,Because my English isn’t good for him!!! that I am not going to support this one.
I will definitely support you guys on this. Many of us have been able to enjoy amazing content and be part of a rapidly growing community that enabled powerful things, and that’s largely thanks to everything you’ve built and maintained. Keeping a project like this running is definitely not free.
On the pricing side, it might feel a bit high for some. Sometimes, cutting the price in half can bring in the same revenue but spread across a much larger user base. Or maybe a stronger push for donations could have worked too. It’s hard to know for sure, but I’d encourage you to stay open to the community’s feedback and alternative options in the coming days. At the end of the day, we are all in the same boat, looking for the same thing: to see Stremio thrive.
Looking ahead, I really hope this steady support allows you to focus on new functionalities. The core product is rock solid, but community tweaks and private alternatives have shown that there are fascinating UX features and UI improvements that could elevate Stremio to the next level. Hopefully, this means we’ll start seeing those great ideas that are currently scattered in silos integrated natively into the platform.
