Stremio Tech Update #77 – Stremio v5 & Stremio Web Updated

We just released a new version of Stremio v5 and Stremio Web (v5.0.0-beta.35), here’s what changed:

Player:

• Added media key support (play/pause, next/previous track)
• Added video scale/zoom property
• Added HDR badge indicator
• Added context menu on subtitle choice (download subtitle, copy sub id, copy sub link)
• Show subtitle name when hovering in subtitle menu
• Fixed pausing with spacebar
• Fixed embedded subtitles not being prioritized in some cases
• Fixed subtitles size shortcut (- / =)
• Fixed subtitle toggle state accuracy
• Fixed SideDrawer animation bug on webkit browsers

UI Details:

• Add Tooltips for rating actions (like / love buttons)

MacOS app specific changes (v5.1.21) specific player changes:

• Added full HDR support with correct EDR passthrough (support for max brightness on XDR displays and color correction)
• Updated MPV to v5.0.3 stable
• Added native error dialogs if app cannot start

Windows app (v5.0.21) specific player changes:

• Fixed buffering indicator not showing
• Fixed showing MPV errors when streaming (loading failed)
