We know Linux users have been asking for a new Stremio release for some time. While Stremio v5 has been in the Beta channel of Flatpak for a long time, there have been many issues with it that required a lot of our time and attention to get sorted. Today we became confident enough to move it to the Stable channel of Flatpak so the majority of users would be able to install it easily.
You can install the Stremio v5 update now from FlatHub here: https://flathub.org/en/apps/com.stremio.Stremio?update=v5
With that said there may still be bugs with this version that we don’t know of, if you do encounter any bugs with the new release, please make sure to report them at: https://github.com/Stremio/stremio-bugs/issues
For those that have issues with this new update and wish to revert to Stremio v4 while we work on fixes, you can do so with this command:
sudo flatpak update --commit=355c42ab40cc747bf964118d0795b36f62e8e1c7c10a2f4b71653992ce828db8 com.stremio.StremioStay tuned as we have more surprises for our users in 2026!
